The ungeared one (FOF) amounts to an orthodox unit trust with a small amount (no more than 10%) of futures and options bolted on. Les fonds de placement investis en options et contrats à terme ont été récemment autorisés par la Grande-Bretagne. C'est en effet sous le statut [off-shore] qu'opéraient auparavant leurs promoteurs anglais. On y distingue les [ungeared futures and options funds] (FOF), qui peuvent détenir jusqu'à 10% de ces instruments en portefeuille, et les [geared futures and options funds] (GFOF), qui peuvent aller jusqu'à 20%.
