Sprung mass corner vertical velocity is obtained by digital integration of vertical acceleration. The damper setting is switched into "Firm" when preset thresholds of vertical velocity are exceeded. |a| The vertical acceleration was measured on the sprung mass directly above the excited wheel. |b| Vertical acceleration of both sprung and unsprung masses are easily measurable and could be used to select the amount and duration of controlled damping force. |e|
