A system which has no mechanical precursor is the propulsion control which at BMW is called automatic stability control (ASC). This system ensures that the drive forces between road surface does not become so large that the wheels begin to spin and the rear of the vehicle breaks away. This prevents a loss in driving stability due to driver error or a misjudgement of road conditions. |a|
