The accelerometer is measuring the acceleration of the piston rod. The acceleration of the piston rod, in the lower frequency range up to 15 Hz, is for the Semi-Active control of the damper to be used as input to the microprocessor. |a| Two accelerometers, one at the front and one at the rear of the carbody are considered most efficient. Their signals represent the top end of the 'dynamic chain' between roadway input, wheel, secondary suspension, cabin, and seated passengers. |d|
