The new feature of this system, whose basic concept is well-known, is, beside the speed-dependent level adjustment, the Adaptive Damping System or ADS. ADS is a fully automatic, electronically controlled system which adjusts the damping forces to the current requirement of the wheel and body dampers. |d| To quantatively determine what performance improvements the system provided, a number of tests were performed on the vehicle and in the laboratory. The intent was to show through objective testing that the adaptive damping system exhibited improved control in the sport position and a softer ride in the comfort position. |b|
